A Lifetime Transformed by Transplant

Your Life, Our Commitment. At the Penn Transplant Institute, your health is our priority. We remain committed to safely providing care through telemedicine or in-person visits in a COVID-free environment. As the region’s most experienced transplant center, it’s care you can trust.

Transplant Appointments and Procedures During COVID-19

At the Penn Transplant Institute, our highest priority is making sure you get the care you need, when you need it, in the safest way possible.

How We Are Keeping You Safe

Weve implemented new safety protocols for in-person appointments and procedures. We are continually evaluating patient care to improve treatment.

Telemedicine Appointments

We are offering telemedicine visits for new patient appointments by phone or computer, in the comfort of your own home. Telemedicine visits make it easier for you to access the care you need while also following social distancing guidelines. In-person appointments will be scheduled as appropriate, and patients will be seen in a COVID-free environment.

If you are a current transplant patient, please continue to reach out to your care team if you need assistance.

Our physicians, nurses, counselors and surgeons work with patients and their families to determine eligibility for transplantation and follow them through post-op care to ensure the transplanted organ is functioning properly. We have been a pioneer in organ transplantation for more than 50 years, and in that time our experienced team has performed more than 12,500 solid organ transplants.

The Penn Transplant Institute consistently meets or exceeds the national average in all organ transplants. These superior outcomes are a result of the combined efforts of multiple clinical departments across Penn Medicine and a unique, multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of end-stage organ disease.
